Ulta Beauty Haul

Ulta Beauty Haul

Hi everyone! I am back with another haul today. I’ve been shopping for some new makeup lately and it’s been a lot of fun because I never really buy new makeup as I tend to stick with the ones that I know I like and work for me. Ulta is having 21 days of beauty right now, and when I saw Cover Fx setting powder was included in the event, I had to make an order! I had some other things on my mind as well so it was the perfect opportunity for me to grab some makeup.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: I finally purchased the Tarte Shape Tape concealer and let me tell ya; it is truly amazing. It has high coverage, a little on the thicker side but blends beautifully! I think I found my holy grail concealer. I got the shade light medium- it’s has a slight pink undertone but still works well for my yellow undertone skin.

Mac Strobe Cream: I have been hearing rave reviews about the strobe cream for a long time and it was finally time to bite the bullet and put it in my shopping cart. I got the shade, gold and thought it would be a great match for my skin tone, which is medium/tan. I must say, when I put it on for the first time, I was a little disappointed to see that I didn’t notice a huge difference. Probably because I use products that are way more dewy than this strobe cream. I felt like it didn’t have the dewiness that I look for in a cream product. Or it may just be that my expectations were too high after hearing so many people rave about it. It also has a slight scent to it that I do not like at all. It makes me want to wash it off as soon as I put it on. I think I’ll keep trying it though because I really want it to work- next time maybe I’ll mix it with foundation.

Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder: I have been looking for a good loose setting powder for a long time now. Although I do like the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder, I wanted something with no talc. This Cover Fx powder is talc-free so I wanted to give it a go. Also, there were some good reviews on the website. My first impression was that it got rid of the shine and gave me a very natural finish but made my under eye crease a little. I’m going to have to play with it more to see if it works better with other concealers I have. Other than that, I really liked how it looked on my skin.

Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick: I saw someone use this contour stick on Instagram and I was instantly hooked. It gave her definition and looked so natural. Ulta has this stick as part of their everyday deals, sold for only $21. The contour stick is very easy to use and blend. The shade isn’t too orangey or too ashy. However, if you have a very cool undertone, this stick may not work for you as I think it could be a tad too warm.

Indie Hair Sea Salt Spray: I don’t usually do crazy things with my hair but I’ve been into curling it lately. Every time I curl my hair, I find that the hair spray I use is too harsh or makes my hair too stiff, which I don’t like at all so I have been on the hunt for a good sea salt spray to make my curls look more natural and wavy. Ulta has a range of sea salt sprays but this Indie one caught my eye. I’ve only used it once but I can already tell you that it gives my hair texture and volume. It smells great and doesn’t leave my hair sticky like some other sea sprays do.
